Statewide Recovery Through the Arts
OUR VISION PSA Art Awakenings’ vision is to promote empowerment and recovery through the power of creative expression with children and adults who face behavioral health challenges. PSA Art Awakenings provides safe and supportive environments that foster exploration and development of artistic skills.
OUR STUDIOS PSA Art Awakenings Adult Studios provide peer driven therapeutic art groups that use visual art, poetry, music, storytelling, movement, and drama to enhance self-esteem and wellness management skills. Youth studios offer art therapy and therapeutic expressive art groups that promote success at home, in school and the community. Our participants gain personal awareness, respect for self and others, individual accountability and pride in accomplishments. The studios are located throughout Arizona with mobile services in Bullhead City, Marana, Phoenix, and Sierra Vista at partnering behavioral health providers.
OUR GALLERIES PSA Art Awakenings operates studios and galleries throughout Arizona that offer pre-job training and education where artists create artwork for exhibit and sale. Each of our five galleries participates in local community art walks such as “First & Third Fridays” in Phoenix, “Art in the Alley” in Casa Grande, “Bisbee After 5” and “First Saturdays” in Tucson. The downtown Phoenix location is also home to the Artistic Treasures shop, while the Old Bisbee Gallery & Ceramics Studio serves as our only free-standing gallery.
